
Upward Bound is an academic support program funded by the U. S. Department of Education's TRIO Programs division. Upward Bound provides the necessary support for economically disadvantaged and/or first-generation high school students to complete high school, enroll in college, and successfully obtain a four-year college degree. IMPACT - Upward Bound target high schools: Baker High School & Belarie High School, rising 9th-12th graders.
Two-thirds of the participants must be low-income and potential first-generation college students. The remaining participants must be either low-income or potential first-generation college students. Participants are selected based upon recommendations from school officials, the community, and social services agencies.
